When Cornelia Reynolds asked her son what was wrong and what happened at school he said he didn't know. The file included a copy of a February 3 email from a homicide detective to an assistant principal at Carson Elementary School and other Cincinnati school officials describing what he saw on the video obtained from the school district's security department. The coroner's spokesman said Friday that Sammarco wasn't available to discuss the investigation being reopened.
Though the boy's mother may have been in the dark, the situation was investigated by the Cincinnati Police.
"For an 8-year-old to commit suicide is extremely unusual", defense attorney Jennifer Branch said. Gabe hanged himself with a necktie in the bedroom of his Cincinnati home two days later.
A Cincinnati police news release Thursday acknowledged the department investigated Taye's death on January 26, but officials there said it would not be appropriate to comment at this time.
The family's attorney [Jennifer Branch] says there is video of Gabe being attacked by another student in the boys bathroom [at Carson Elementary School] and lost consciousness.
What happened to Gabriel is not an uncommon scenario at Carson School, said Branch.
The district's statement Friday followed release of the video showing Gabriel Taye being bullied and falling to the floor unconscious. But after the publication of an article in the Cincinnati Inquirer on Wednesday, the school district said it plans to release the video in the coming days, blurring out the faces of the minors to protect their identities. Taye remained in the bathroom unconscious for several minutes until he was found by an assistant principal and school nurse. He was on the floor just over seven minutes.
The detective's report said the school staff could best handle the issue, but he asked for the name and date of birth of the boy in the red and gray coat. "He responded that he 'fell, '" the district said in its statement Friday.

School: Boy, 8, who killed himself never said he was bullied
In January, administrators at the school said there was no evidence of bullying.
"Later [that] evening, the boy became nauseous and vomited twice, and his mother took him to Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center [to be treated]", the Enquirer further explains.
Attorney Carla Leader said the bully is then seen celebrating after knocking out Gabriel and that students step over him while others poke him with their feet as he lay unconscious. "The article also portrays other students in the video as 'aggressors.' Video evidence does not support this characterization", the statement reads in part.
She also had a warning for other parents to be alert to signs their children were being bullied, and could even be pushed to suicide.
Carolyn Emery has two children at the school, including a daughter who was in first grade with Gabriel.
She says another child smacked her daughter in the face. The school then claimed they contacted the boy's mother, telling her to have her son checked out at a hospital.
"For the parents at that school, they need to ask questions when things happen because they may not be getting the whole story from the school district", Branch said.
Chelsea Near The Premier League Title !!!
It was a big win at this stage of the season. "We haven't had enough wins and that's the key to the whole thing". Following Tottenham's defeat to West Ham last week it became nearly impossible for them to catch the leaders.
