New York Mets pitcher Matt Harvey was suspended for three games for a violation of team rules, the Major League Baseball club announced Sunday. Harvey was suspended by the Mets for an undisclosed violation of team rules. Specifics about the suspension were not provided by general manager Sandy Alderson. "You've got to start somewhere, so today was a good start".

"You have to play well [in New York] or else you're going to get heckled in the outfield", Stanton said with a smile.

UPDATE (2:17 p.m.) - According to CBS Sports, Harvey's suspension involves a "complication of issues that dates back to a year ago". "In every occasion I've been a part of, a guy has come back and he's learned his lesson and we've moved on". The Mets lost 7 to 0.

According to Jon Heyman of FanRag Sports, the Mets sent several security men to Harvey's home unannounced to check on him around 10 p.m. Saturday, the day he did not make it to the ballpark. Matt Harvey seems to be more concerned with his own brand than the team.

Duda posted a.238/.360/.571 slash line with four home runs in 13 games before suffering a hyperextended left elbow April 19 as he stretched for a throw and was run into by Philadelphia's Cesar Hernandez.

"Absolutely, you always want to get down to that (point) - we were really close in Seattle a couple weeks ago", said Ellis, who was behind the plate for the near no-hitter against the Mariners.

The extension through 2027 goes well beyond the tour's television contracts with NBC, CBS and Golf Channel, which expire in 2021.

Stanton is up to 20 homers at Citi Field, the most of any visiting player at the ballpark, and has six multi-homer games there.

Despaigne (0-1) came up from the minor leagues to make his first big league start since September 13, 2015, for San Diego at San Francisco. At Las Vegas this season, Wilk was 2-3 with a 5.91 ERA in six starts.

Stanton hit a three-run homer off Wilk in the first inning and added a solo shot in the third. He was subject to criticism over indicating he would shut himself down for the year in September, 2015, despite the Mets being in a playoff race.

"Somebody said check the internet, and it just kind of blew up from there", the backup catcher said Saturday.

The Mets (14-16) scored 71 runs in their previous nine games.

A break may be just what Harvey needs to get out of his own head and back to pitching like the World Series Ace he was before his season was cut short.
