Refusing to elaborate on U.S. military options because "we shouldn't be announcing all our moves", Mr Trump added: "It is a chess game".

North Korea has kept the West on edge for weeks over signs it may conduct a sixth nuclear test, punctuated by a series of missile tests that have aroused U.S. fears that the regime may be close to developing a ballistic missile capable of hitting the United States mainland with a nuclear warhead.
Trump has said he is counting on Chinese President Xi Jinping to encourage North Korea to give up its pursuit of ballistic missile and nuclear weapons programs.
But, the President would not discuss the possibility of military action - saying "I don't know.we'll see" when asked if another missile launch by North Korea would mean retaliation.
"It depends on the actions of North Korea".
Japan's navy has dispatched its largest destroyer to escort a U.S. military ship off the Japanese coast amid heightened tension on the Korean Peninsula.
In Australia, Prime Minister Malcom Turnbull used a commemoration of a World War II naval battle to warn North Korea against military threat.
The timing of the launch suggested a complex North Korean message to the world, said Kim Dong-yub, an expert at Kyungnam University's Institute of Far Eastern Studies in Seoul.

But asked about the possibility of a United States strike, he would not be drawn saying it was a "chess game" which he hoped could be resolved without military action. And we also know that the USA has few defenses in place when it comes to preventing North Korea from launching a nuclear strike, or stopping one that has already begun.
