We haven't yet reached the tension level of the 1962 Cuban Missile Crisis, which put the United States in direct confrontation with the Soviet Union and brought the world to the brink of nuclear war, but the current tension between the USA and North Korea could quickly spiral downward.
The official pointed out the recent engagement with the Chinese, and the stronger language calling for more Chinese pressure on North Korea, is the most immediate impact of that review.
Experts says, the strike represents a substantial escalation of the USA military campaign in the region, and could be interpreted by the Syrian government as an act of war. The U.S. now has about 30,000 American troops stationed in neighboring South Korea, with frequent American military exercises' occurring in the surrounding area.
The most recent Pentagon report reiterated concerns about the missile, noting that the weapon "demonstrates a limited capability to defend the United States homeland from small numbers of simple intermediate-range or intercontinental ballistic missile threats launched from North Korea or Iran".
Will the United States of America shoot down one of the North Korean missile tests from the South China Sea and put its allies, South Korea and Japan at the risk of a response from Kim Jong-un?
News of their possible deployment comes days after North Korea staged a huge military parade as part of a day of celebrations to mark the 105th anniversary of the birth of the country's founder Kim Il Sung.
In an interview with TMJ4-TV, Trump said the USA wants peace and that he hopes North Korean ruler Kim Jong Un does, too. That means the missile could fire at longer ranges, presumably farther from the North Korean coastline, and have a greater chance of hitting the threatening incoming missile.

"China and the United States and South Korea, Japan, we all share that same interest".
"Gotta behave", President Donald Trump warned North Korea this week.
"US Pacific Command ordered the Carl Vinson strike group north as a prudent measure to maintain readiness and presence in the western Pacific", said Commander Dave Benham, spokesman at US Pacific Command. "If the United States and China can set the tone, there will also be more opportunities for dialogue". But Pence expressed impatience with the unwillingness of the regime to move toward ridding itself of nuclear weapons and ballistic missiles.
Despite these warnings from the U.S., North Korean officials have not shown any signs of stepping back from their nuclear tests. China remains North Korea's chief source of fuel and food imports, but Pyongyang seems to have calculated that Beijing's fears of a collapse of Kim Jong Un's hard-line communist regime override any such snubs.
