Gianfranco Zola resigned as manager of Birmingham City yesterday after a awful run of results since he took over at the Championship club just four months ago.

However under former Italy worldwide Zola, the Birmingham suffered a dramatic slump in form that saw them manage just two wins in 22 matches.

The club sit three points above the drop zone with three games remaining.

The 50-year-old Italian, who took up the reins in December following the controversial sacking of Gary Rowett, faced the media after the match to express his sorrow that he could not fulfil the club's expectations.

Redknapp's brief does not now extend beyond ensuring safety, but if he can achieve that, next season is an enticing prospect for the former West Ham, Portsmouth and Tottenham boss.

They are now battling against relegation having won just twice in 24 games.

WHEDA's expanded loan guarantees will be available to dairy farmers and processors through August 1, 2017. That's according to Minnesota Department of Agriculture spokeswoman Margaret Hart.

"I got a call at 7pm asking if I could come and have a meeting in London". It is my first day, I will meet the lads, I haven't seen them play, I haven't got a magic wand, that's for the sure.

Redknapp has been out of club management since leaving QPR in 2015 and will take former Bristol City boss Steve Cotterill to St Andrew's with him as his assistant. I just shook hands with them and said I'd do it, no problem.

Zola stood down on Monday, declaring "I sacked myself".

"I've gone in there and said, "listen, I don't want nothing, I will come and do it". I'm looking forward to it", he told his first news conference. It is not that I like quitting but I feel like this club deserves the best chance. If I feel I can't help the team it is better that I leave someone else to do that. "It is all very disappointing".

Blues' next game is at local rivals Aston Villa on Sunday.
