The Houston Texans announced they would sign former wide receiver Andre Johnson to a one-day contract, allowing him to retire as a member of the team.
Johnson, the Texans' second first-round draft pick after becoming an expansion team in 2002, has enjoyed what could be a Hall of Fame career. Johnson will be honored at a press conference on April 19 at NRG Stadium. He went on to catch 1,012 passes for 13,597 yards and 64 touchdowns in 12 years with the team.
Johnson spent the last two seasons of his career making trips to other AFC South teams in the Colts and Titans. Throughout his career, he was forced to catch passes from quarterbacks like David Carr, T.J.
USC's PJ Dozier will sign with agent, stay in NBA Draft

Keep in mind, Johnson's best quarterback was Matt Schaub.
The 35-year-old finished his career with 1,062 catches, good for 11th in National Football League history, plus 14,185 receiving yards and 70 touchdowns. In October, it was first reported that Johnson was done playing after his unsuccessful stint with the Titans.
He is the all-time leader in almost every receiving category for the Texans. He set the single-season franchise record for receptions with 115 in 2008 and receiving yards with 1,598 in 2012.
