A sewage system clogged by hundreds of condoms led to a bust at an Austin massage parlor.
Jade Massage Therapy, located at 9112 Anderson Mill Road in Austin, Texas, was part of a weeks-long investigation after Austin police received a tip from a project management company in February about a possible prostitution ring at the business.
A real estate agent who had just taken over the property notified police of the problem at Jade Massage Therapy in the Texas capital of Austin and told them that other tenants believed the business was a front for prostitution.
Wang and Emery have been charged with both engaging in organized criminal activity and money laundering.
"I was like, 'you've got to be kidding me, '" he said. "It's not the normal tip you would get or lead you would get on a place committing criminal activity, but it happened, so that helped us out".
The affidavit identified Juan Wang, 49, and Joseph Emery, 54, as the tenants on the lease agreement for the massage parlor.
5.8-Inch OLED Smartphone Delayed due To 3D Sensor Technology
Aside from the 5.8-inch OLED screen that Apple ordered from Samsung, iPhone 8 is packed with tons of promising features and specs. Despite the device launching alongside the other models, sources expect stock to not be available until within quarter 4 of 2017.
On March 22, Austin police executed search warrants at the address and found Wang in a massage room with a naked man, the affidavit said.
She claimed the money was earned from her massage business and that she was taking it with her to China to pay for a medical procedure. She was carrying multiple bundles of cash wrapped in duct tape, totaling $30,000, according to the Statesman.
"When [an officer] pointed out that she was carrying in excess of a year's worth of income Wang became visibly nervous and had difficulty answering further questions", the affidavit said, according to the American-Statesman. Neither were listed as now held in the Travis County Jail.
Police allowed her to board the plane after she gave them a contact phone number.
Detectives found that there were numerous advertisements for Jade Massage on backpage.com, a website police say is often used by people selling sexual services. Officers pulled over a couple of suspected john's who had gone into the massage parlor, who allegedly both admitted that they had paid for sexual services during their time inside. They also found another woman with another naked man in a separate area of the same building. Police say the clients who frequented the massage parlor would tip between $40-$120 on top of a standard $60 massage charge. Investigators also found over $66,000 in cash in a safe in Wang and Emery's home.
