SOCHI, Russia (AP) - World champion Germany reached the Confederations Cup semifinals on Sunday with a 3-1 victory over Cameroon, which had a player sent off after confusion with experimental video replays.
Chile managed to capitalise on the defensive lapse as substitute Martin Rodriguez equalised in the 67th minute after Australia had the lead with a James Troisi goal in the 42nd minute.
Mexico beat hosts Russian Federation 2-1 in Kazan to take them through to the semi-finals, while Portugal topped Group A and joined the Mexicans after beating last-place New Zealand in St. Petersburg.
RB Leipzig forward Timo Werner scored twice, with Hoffenheim midfielder Kerem Demirbay also on target for the experimental German squad competing in Russian Federation.
The draw sees the South American Champions finish second in the group behind defending world champions Germany, who defeated Cameroon 3-1 in the other match.
Liverpool midfielder Emre Can is Germany's only injury concern for Sunday's Confederations Cup match against Cameroon after a training knock.
Germany have won two of the three previous meetings and there was a 2-2 draw when the teams last met in a pre-World Cup friendly in 2014.
Australia is eliminated but gave the rattled Chile team a shock with aggressive first half play that saw the Australians collect four yellow cards.
Both sides sat level on four points heading into the last group stage fixture, with Die Mannschaft taking on African champions Cameroon and the Chileans facing off against Australia.

Chile's coach insisted they had not underestimated Australia after Troisi gave the Socceroos a shock lead.

Chile boss Juan Antonio Pizzi started with an experienced side, including nine of the team which beat Argentina on penalties in the 2016 Copa America final.

Australia freshened up its starting XI, making six replacements, including veteran Tim Cahill.
Arturo Vidal almost replied instantly when his stooping header was blocked on the line by Milligan with the rebound eluding Jose Fuenzalida.
Socceroos coach Ange Postecoglou doesn't just want to beat Chile in their Confederations Cup clash. The Arsenal forward then swung in a cross which Vargas headed narrowly wide of the unguarded goal.
