According to a 42-page federal criminal complaint, obtained by The Associated Press, Cameron James Pettit, 28, allegedly supplied Miller with counterfeit oxycodone pills containing fentanyl. The drugs in Miller's system included fentanyl, cocaine, and ethanol, the coroner found.
Pettit expressed remorse after Miller's death was reported in the media, texting a friend saying, "I am not great..."
Two days after the purchase, Mac Miller was found unresponsive in his Studio City home.
The document reportedly claims that Pettit - along with a sex worker and madam directly connected to him - delivered counterfeit oxycodone pills that contained fentanyl, cocaine and Xanax to Miller twice in the days before his death. The U.S. Attorney's office alleges that Pettit actually supplied Miller with pills that were laced with fentanyl. "We are committed to slowing the number of overdose deaths and prosecuting those responsible for spreading this most risky opioid". He followed up with, "I'm gonna get off the grid".
