Signaling its commitment to Vesta still, Amazon has pulled engineers from other projects to work on robot prototypes, which are now "waist-high and navigate with the help of an array of computer-vision cameras". Bloomberg reports that the additional components in the new Echo will include at least four tweeters, with Amazon even rumored to be plotting high-fidelity music streaming to go along with this beefed up speaker.

Just in case you wanted a robot butler to follow you around the house, Amazon is reportedly working on an Alexa bot with wheels that can be summoned via voice commands. It is being developed by Amazon Lab126, the e-commerce giant's research and development arm.

The Echo, which went on sale in 2015, will get 63% of the USA market this year, as per EMarketer.

Amazon is supposedly taking a shot at a higher-quality rendition of its mainstream Alexa-based Echo brilliant speaker to legitimately compete Apple's HomePod and other excellent savvy speakers.

Amazon's new Echo device could come in response to the growing competition from the likes of Google, Sonos One, Apple and more. However, there have been delays, as the machine isn't quite ready for mass-production. The report describes the robot as a waist-high device that can navigate its surroundings using computer vision cameras.

Amazon Echo Dot is the lowest cost smart speaker available from a major tech company.

Amazon has a robust robotics division, but it's primarily focused on increasing efficiency in its warehouses and delivering packages. While it's a great device for controlling other speakers and communicating with the Alexa voice assistant, it's not designed for playing music. Last year, Amazon introduced 15 new Alexa-enabled products, including a microwave. That sort of familiarity, plus Amazon's deep pockets, gives it a leg up over the independent home robot ventures that have thus far failed to gain significant traction with consumers. You can also view your smart home camera feed, access recently used devices, and manage smart devices by room. This new Echo is created to have better audio quality overall, the report states.
