Every time you travel to a Supercharger location your Tesla will register that and intelligently warm up the battery to the optimal temperature to accept a charge when you arrive. It's called the V3 Supercharger, and it can support up to 250kW per vehicle, from a cabinet that's rated at 1MW. Boiling that down to real-world rates, the new chargers will push 75 miles of range into a vehicle in just 5 minutes.

Employing a completely new architecture, the V3 system centers around a 1MW power cabinet that can support peak charge rates of up to 250kW per auto.

V3 allows drivers to charge their vehicles at the full power their battery can handle. Tesla estimates that V3's upgrades will reduce typical charging times to around 15 minutes.

Unveiled on Wednesday, the carmaker said in a blog post that the new V3 Supercharger will boast charging rates of up to 250 kW. V3 Supercharging is coming to Europe towards the end of 2019.

In the coming weeks, over 12,000 existing V2 Superchargers will get 145kW charge rates, up from 120kW.

Woods pulls out of Bay Hill with neck strain
"My No. 1 job is to captain that team and do that the right way, but then I want to be able to come out here and play", he said. Tiger Woods set golf's alarm bells ringing on Monday night by pulling out of this week's PGA Tour event with a neck injury.

"Your Model 3 is now able to charge at V3 Superchargers at up to 250 kW peak rates". At launch, only Model 3 owners will be able to use V3 Supercharging. Stations' power will no longer be shared between Teslas, which could slow down charging rates, but each auto will have its own dedicated power supply.

The first V3 Supercharger site that's not a test version will break ground next month.

For now, Tesla has only installed its preview Supercharger V3s in Fremont, California and will only make them available to members of its early access program.

Tesla now has more than 12,000 Supercharger sites in North America and says it plans to have coverage for 99% of the European population by the end of the year.

Also new in a firmware update (2019.7.11) for Model 3 owners is "Summon with Key Fob", which lets owners "move your Model 3 in and out of a parking space from outside the auto using a paired key fob".
