The search engine giant is making searching even easier with the latest update to Google Search, which brings in tappable shortcuts to the Search app.

"Starting today in English in India, users will experience tappable shortcuts on the Google app for Android, providing users easy access to great tools and the ability to explore deeper within various topics", the company stated.

The new feature is created to make it easier for customers in India to find all the service Google offers, and boost usage of its mobile app.

The home screen of the Google app features four often-used shortcuts, and the rest are accessible by selecting the arrow button to the right. Users can keep scrolling towards the right to see what all shortcuts Google has to offer.

SoftBank's Vision Fund invests $2.5 billion in Flipkart
Japanese investor Softbank has invested over ₹16000 crores in homegrown eCommerce firm Flipkart . The discussions were terminated after the smaller rival chose to pursue an independent path.

The new screen will include various shortcuts like nearby gas stations, pharmacies, convenience stores as well as quick games like Tic-tac-toe, roll a dice, Solitaire and more. If there is a smartphone activated Google account, the phone will be shown in the list. Google boasts that it scans 50 billion apps a day. Google will also let show users key match statistics, including past scores, news, and the current rankings for ICC teams.

But Play Protect also watches apps as they run on phones and uses machine learning to detect unexpected behavior – when that occurs, you get a notification and the app gets the boot. Users have to update their Google app in order to see the new feature.

While we were seeing the Google Play Protect rebrand of Verify Apps on a few of our devices before today, none of us were seeing the features rolling out in the Play Store via server-side switch.
