"What we are trying to do is to turn the smart home concept into something more affordable, accessible and integrated". And now, thanks to Anker, you can get a version of the Echo Dot for just $35. The Eufy Genie functions similarly to Amazon's Echo Dot, but is $15 cheaper. It's hard not to call the Genie a pure Echo Dot knockoff, and with the same, voice-activated Alexa smarts as the Dot, the two might as well be functionally identical. No more connecting third-party apps to Alexa or managing different brands and platforms.
The best reason to buy a Genie is that it'll connect to a bunch of Eufy's upcoming Alexa-powered smart home devices. You can still do that with Genie, but why would you wanna go through the hassle? At 70 percent of the Echo Dot's cost, I'd be satisfied if the sound was 70 percent as strong, but that wouldn't be saying much given that the Dot's puny speaker wasn't created to fill a room. Eufy's simplifying it all. The company sells robotic vacuums (similar in design to iRobot's Roomba) via its Eufy (pronounced "You-Fee") line, and now it is expanding with the arrival of the Eufy Genie smart speaker. Although the company mentioned that a $40 Bluetooth-enabled version of the device is coming in the future, the lack of Bluetooth pairing in the launch model of the device might be a deal-breaker for anyone who might prefer to use their own wireless speakers in lieu of the Genie's 2W speakers.
This is Amazon's strategy to expand Alexa into more gadget and places than other smart home assistants, such as Siri and Google Assistant, in the race to bring AI into the home.
Film New Academy President
She said earlier this year that she would not seek re-election. "But the change is not coming as fast as we would like". He has been a film academy governor representing the cinematography branch for 14 years.
Of course, speaker quality is always a worry when we begin to dip down to low prices like these, but Anker fixes that problem by including an auxillary port on the device.
Stranger still - Amazon fully supports the company, which is a sub-brand of the more familiar "Anker", best known for portable battery packs. I own several Anker products including its non-Wi-Fi version of the RoboVac and I've never had any problems.
