First Baptist Dallas pastor Robert Jeffress says God has given the President authority to take out North Korea.
"When it comes to how we should deal with evil doers, the Bible, in the book of Romans, is very clear: God has endowed rulers full power to use whatever means necessary-including war-to stop evil", Jeffress said in a statement.
Top military commanders in Seoul have been ordered to speed up preparations to protect South Korea from the nuclear-armed regime of Kim Jong-un today as tensions in the region soar. Most mainstream interpretations of the passage, she said, would suggest that God works through governmental leaders, but ultimate authority comes from God.
"Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established", Romans 13 reads."The authorities that exist have been established by God". They are God's servants, agents of wrath to bring punishment on the wrongdoer. In a sermon, he said: "You see, God is not against building walls".
More to the immediate point, if the Almighty would show Trump some way to "take out Kim Jong-un" without taking out hundreds of thousands if not millions of bystanders in a bloody nuclear confrontation, Jeffress's bland authorization of "fire and fury" might be more innocent. By extension, Christians are thus compelled to comply with Trump's will.

Those threats come as The Washington Post reports that North Korea "has successfully produced a miniaturized nuclear warhead that can fit inside its missiles", and are well on their way to becoming a nuclear power. This comes after Trump said today that if North Korea continues to threaten the US then they will "be met with fire and fury like the world has never seen".
North Korea has developed missiles of varying ranges and nuclear warheads to fit them, ensuring that the regime has the ability to deliver devastation to its neighbors and the USA across the Pacific Ocean.
The almost 8,000-word article, written by Mark Bowden and published in The Atlantic's July/August issue, reviewed a range of hard options for the US government and ultimately advocated "acquiescing" to North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un's "developing the weapons he wants, while continuing efforts to contain his ambition".
This isn't the first time Jeffress has made controversial statements.
Over the past two years, Jeffress said, Trump has been "very measured, very thoughtful in every response". He has said in the past that former president Barack Obama paved the way for the antichrist and drew wide attention for calling Mormonism a cult during the 2012 Republican primary.
