Three lions which had escaped from a world famous game reserve in South Africa have been killed.

She said the team on the ground found the lions after it received information that a farmer‚ about three farms away from them‚ had killed a lion so they moved in there.

SANParks officials then made a decision to put down both the wounded lion and the other unharmed lion.

It was not known how the lions escaped from the park, most of which is fenced.

Officials say they were probably driven out by population pressures.
