THE Process added to its progress in Philadelphia after the 76ers made Markelle Fultz the No. 1 pick in the 2017 NBA Draft on Thursday (Friday, Manila time).
The Sixers will hold an introductory press conference with Fultz and other Sixers Draft selections Friday at 11 a.m.at the Philadelphia 76ers Training Complex. Under the 1995 Collective Bargaining Agreement, the National Basketball Association operates a rookie salary structure whereby first-year players sign four-year deals, with the first two years guaranteed and the final two optional. Boston received the No. 3 overall pick and a future first-round pick in the deal.
Fultz, who spent just one season at Washington, averaged 23.2 points, 5.9 assists and 5.7 rebounds per game.
Fultz and Ball led a record-setting run of one-and-dones in the National Basketball Association draft, which received a jolt early in the first round when the Chicago Bulls traded Butler to the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Upon hearing his name called at the NBA Draft in New York, Fultz said, "It was unbelievable really".
Joel Embiid was watching the NBA Draft unfold Thursday night, and chose to offer his insight on the picks via Twitter. Considered by most to be the top talent in this year's draft class, he was coveted by the 76ers as a flawless guard to complement their young core of Joel Embiid, Ben Simmons and Dario Saric.
His stock only went up during his freshman season.
Oracle Corporation (ORCL) Downgraded to Hold at BidaskClub
Following the transaction, the director now directly owns 8,281 shares in the company, valued at approximately $374,715.25. Oracle Corporation (NYSE:ORCL)'s market cap, the total dollar value of all of their outstanding shares, is 205086.68m.
Now, this development doesn't exactly prevent Boston from acquiring either of those players or another star making big bucks - the price of max contracts will drop, too, given that they're determined by the cap - and the Celtics always were going to need to make roster moves to clear space, whether by renouncing rights to all of their current free agents or by getting rid of certain young players.
IT'S GOT TO BE THE SHOES: When Fultz walks on stage to shake hands with NBA Commissioner Adam Silver, he recommends you check out his feet. And if the Lakers do draft Ball, what does that mean for the player who is the team's current "point guard of the future", D'Angelo Russell?
"Tonight was supposed to be a good night".
"It would mean a lot to play for my hometown and learn from the best point guard ever", Ball said.
Fultz is the Huskies' 10 first-round pick since 2005 and is the 16 since the draft switched to just two rounds in 1989.
And finally, with the fifth pick in the draft, the Sacramento Kings picked Kentucky point guard De'Aaron Fox.
Teams chasing those two squads may make up ground quickest with a veteran player they can only get through free agency or a trade, so that may have to wait until July.
