"Most of these protests are happening because people don't know what the true teaching of Islam are", said Rizwan Ahmad, Ahmadiyya Muslim Community. "We have to be careful with who we let in the country".

A large group of people came together in Waterbury on Saturday for a march against Islamic law, the religious principles followed in many Muslim countries. The former Muslim now Christian-convert says parts of Sharia aren't healthy or safe. "Fiqh" refers to jurisprudence, or specific laws. "Really if anything, we're at risk of fascism being imposed on America", said Raphael Kadaris, speaking for a group called Refuse Fascism. "Laws are amenable to change".
