Colbert, whose steady political wisecracks have been accompanied by a rise in his ratings, wasted no time in taking a dig at President Donald Trump over the possibility of tapes involving fired FBI Director James Comey.
Stephen Colbert is in Russia this week and he's scheduled to make an appearance on a late night Russian talk show. "The possible nexus between Russia, Trump and the 2016 election has generated at least a joke a night on "Late Show", like this one from the June 15 edition: "[Robert] Mueller is like Batman, putting together The Flash, Green Lantern and Wonder Woman to create the Obstruction of Justice League". Responding to the tweet, Colbert shared a photo of him strolling past The Hermitage Museum in Saint Petersburg while assuring the Potus that he would make it his mission to find the proof if it was in Russian Federation.
CBS did not disclose when Colbert is set to return and repeats of earlier The Late Show episodes were slotted for Thursday and Friday.

Colbert's Late Show finished first in the 56 local markets. In response to Donald Trump's tweet in which he admitted to having not taped former Federal Bureau of Investigation director James Comey's conversations, the Late Show host announced he was in Russia and took a dig at the president, and any prospective tapes the Russians might have of him as alluded to by the infamous Trump dossier, in one fell swoop.
