Vice President Mike Pence has hired outside legal counsel to help him navigate the investigations into possible ties between President Donald Trump's campaign and Russian Federation, according a new report.
Cullen, a longtime power broker in Virginia's state capital, was appointed by President George H.W. Bush in 1991 as US attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia.
The president has also hired outside counsel, attorney Marc Kasowitz, to handle Russia-related inquiries.
Pence has retained former U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia Richard Cullen, who is chairman of McGuire Woods, the Post reported.
The new allegations against Trump centre on his own admission that he fired Comey because of the Russian Federation investigation, and suggestions he asked several top intelligence officials for their help altering the direction of the inquiry.
