"As a last resort, in the interest of public safety, you are requested to stop transmission of any data related message or class of messages transmitted or received by any telegraph within the ambit of the Indian Telegraph Act, 1885 for the next seven days, in local television channels in Darjeeling Sadar, Kurseong and Mirik Sub Divisions", the statement read.
The GJM spokesperson said, "We will send letter to the state and the central governments stating that the GTA stands scrapped as the GJM, being one of the signatories, is pulling out of the the agreement". A student of the school named Utsav Thapa told the news agency: "We are safe inside".
