In the notice issued by the I-T department, legal provisions have been mentioned for the attachment of assets on Mr. Prasad's daughter Misa Bharti; her husband Shailesh Kumar; Mr. Prasad's wife and former Bihar Chief Minister, Rabri Devi; son and Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav; and Mr. Prasad's daughters Chanda Yadav and Ragini Yadav.
A benami property is one bought in a certain person's name though the real beneficiary is someone else.
A total of nine plots in Phulwari Sharif in Patna, where a mall is reported to have been coming up, has also been attached by the tax department.
On Monday, the Income Tax Department provisionally attached a few immovable properties in connection with its probe in the Rs 1,000 crore benami land deals and tax evasion case.
The charges were brought under the Benami Transactions Act.

Violation of the Act carries rigorous imprisonment of up to seven years and a hefty fine.
They said the assets are in the benami possession and the action has been taken after the department carried out raids in this case last month. The Act is relatively new, and was implemented only on November 1, 2016.
In this case, a chartered accountant, Rajesh Kumar Agrawal, allegedly linked to Bharti and others, was also arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on May 22.
The order has also identified firms like Ms Mishail Packers and Printers Private Limited, AB Exports Pvt Ltd, Delight Marketing Pvt Ltd and A K Infosystem Pvt Ltd as the "benamidars" in this case.
Misa Bharti was issued two summons by the Income Tax department to appear before the Delhi investigation wing but she failed to appear both times. Misa - purportedly named after the Maintenance of Internal Security Act (MISA) of Indira Gandhi under which Lalu Prasad had been detained during the Emergency era of Indira Gandhi - and Shailesh may be questioned further by the I-T Department, said the officials. He has said in statements that he is "not scared at all" and will "continue to fight against fascist forces".
