Police say six people are dead, including an infant from Phoenix, after a multiple-car pileup on Interstate 10 in New Mexico near the Arizona state line.
Officials say 77-year-old Jose Manuel Clemente and 38-year-old Maurella Clemente Munoz were the two victims from El Paso involved in the crash on Monday night.
A 30-year-old man and 29-year-old woman from Phoenix were also killed in the crash.
Police said the initial investigation indicated that 18 commercial motor vehicles and seven passengers vehicles were involved.
Arizona Department of Transportation officials said traffic in both directions would need to take a 105-mile detour to avoid the significant highway closure.
