The special counsel is following two major lines of investigation, said one source.

Donald Trump is being investigated for potential obstruction of justice by the special counsel pursuing possible links of Russian interference in the 2016 US Presidential elections, reports The Washington Post.

In a second tweet, Trump touted his "powerful" presence on social media, despite widespread criticism that his recurring rants on Twitter and other online media have only compounded his legal and political problems.

"Crooked H destroyed phones w/ hammer, "bleached" emails, & had husband meet w/AG days before she was cleared- & they talk about obstruction?" he wrote.

He wrote: "I am being investigated for firing the FBI Director by the man who told me to fire the FBI Director!"

Sounds like someone just watched The Witches for the first time...

Trump's tweets are the latest attacks on the leader of an investigation that he insists is unnecessary and distracting.

London fire: Number of dead and missing rises to 79, police say
At least 30 people have been killed , hundreds of others have been left homeless and dozens of others are missing. Police do not expect to find any survivors inside the 24-storey concrete tower, which contained 120 apartments.

DONALD Trump has said it is "sad" that seven months of investigations and hearings into possible links between his campaign and Russian Federation have been fruitless.

"I appointed him; I stand by that decision, " he said. Trump initially used that memo along with a recommendation from Sessions to justify firing Comey.

"His view was still that it... could be misleading, because the nature of the investigation was such that it might well touch - obviously, it would touch the campaign, and the person at the head of the campaign would be the candidate", Comey said. "I can go around them", he posted.

The White House has denied any collusion, and Trump has repeatedly complained about the probe, saying Democrats can not accept his election win.

Trump's Twitter response followed days of intensifying criticism of Mueller from some conservatives who have charged the former Federal Bureau of Investigation director and his team with political bias and have claimed his relationship to Comey and an earlier meeting with Trump amount to conflicts of interest. The order also covers separate inquiries into several key Trump associates including former national security adviser Michael Flynn, campaign adviser Paul Manafort, foreign policy aide Carter Page and outside adviser Roger Stone.

The Trump administration asserted that Kushner suggested the back channel so that former White House national security adviser Michael Flynn could coordinate with Russian Federation to form a strategy for the Syrian Civil War.

A close Trump associate said this week the president was considering firing Mueller, although the White House later denied it. Coats later told lawmakers he never felt pressured to intervene.
