But mimicking Ossoff's approach might not be so easy.
At least in districts such as Georgia's 6th, the dynamic could complicate the party's path to victory in competitive races.
"Democrats saw an opportunity, so they went all in", said Randy Evans, a Republican National Committeeman from Georgia. "And if he wins, they win".
"We're doing everything we can to make sure folks know when and where to vote and how". Mailers vow he'll "stand up" to the president while he talks of how both parties are "complicit" in wasteful spending.
Handel has reacted angrily to Ossoff's assertions, emotionally telling the story of her sister, who she describes as being born with a severe birth defect requiring considerable medical attention.
Ossoff effectively avoided Democratic opposition in his own race.
"I think that it's accurate to say that Republicans are antsy about the race", Atlanta Journal Constitution political reporter Greg Bluestein told Fox News on Saturday. Bernie Sanders' (I) presidential campaign. He supports a higher minimum wage, with caveats; she's opposed.
"The GOTV effort is huge and critical", Ossoff told a small group of reporters Sunday at his Chamblee field office. But that seat is seen as more likely to stay in Republican hands. The 70-year-old retiree said she has knocked on potential voters' doors every week since March for Ossoff's campaign, motivated by her fears about Trump's election and his approach to health care, immigration and education. The more centrist tack hasn't disappointed his supporters, either.
Both Ossoff and Handel have received violent threats during the campaign.
Civil rights icon Rep. John Lewis joined Ossoff at the NAACP Juneteenth Celebration, a festival which commemorates the end of slavery in the United States. "Twenty four hours a day, with a few naps in between".
"No, Chris. Let me be crystal clear so you completely understand: We have not received nor are we aware of any investigation of the president of the United States", Sekulow said. Created in March, the grassroots group consists of women, many from metro Atlanta. But Republicans in Georgia are seeking to exploit the shooting to gain an advantage in this week's special Congressional election. "But I think primaries could make it more challenging".
And Ossoff, a former congressional aide and political newcomer, has centered his message on two audiences: There's left-leaning voters infuriated by Trump and eager to elect a fresh-faced Democrat. He also doesn't actually live in the district.
The midterm elections of 2018 are also many months away. But he urged solidarity and said Trump "keeps his promises".
