It was responding to the DoJ lawsuit dated June 7, which is part of an effort to seize about US$1 billion worth of assets linked to 1MDB.

The Attorney-General's Chambers (AGC) has expressed their frustration over not being informed by the United States Department of Justice (DoJ) of their latest civil lawsuits against 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) that appears to be a "repeat" of last year's suit.

The Malaysian Attorney General Tan Sri Mohamed Apandi Ali has rebutted claims that no 1MDB money has been diverted and misused, adding that no agency has delivered such evidence.

An aide to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak also said local cooperation had not been sought for the lawsuits.

"We also note that there has been no evidence from any investigation conducted by any law enforcement agencies in various jurisdictions that shows that money has been misappropriated from 1MDB; and that there have been no criminal charges against any individuals for misappropriation of funds from 1MDB, " he said in a statement.

Tengku Sariffuddin said the Malaysian government will fully cooperate with any lawful investigation of Malaysian companies or citizens in accordance with worldwide protocols.

Trump calls House health bill 'mean'
Conservative Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) admitted that passing a Senate health care bill will involve making some tough choices. Still, they'll be hard for the GOP to dodge as it prepares the AHCA for a Senate vote by July 4 .

The DoJ on Thursday moved to seize another US$540mil (RM2.3bil) of assets allegedly belonging to 1MDB.

The DoJ a year ago announced a civil lawsuit seeking the forfeiture and recovery of more than US$1 billion in assets allegedly linked to 1MDB, via the country's Kleptocracy Asset Recovery Initiative.

Tengku Sarifuddin said there have been numerous and extensive investigations by Malaysian authorities into 1MDB that concluded no crime was found. "At the moment, there is still an ongoing investigation by the Royal Malaysian Police on 1MDB", he said.

"As the Prime Minister has always maintained, if any wrongdoing is proven, the law will be enforced without exception", he emphasised.

"However, we would welcome such a request in line with our commitment to worldwide cooperation and the fight against money laundering".
