Pittsburgh Penguins goalie Marc-Andre Fleury has waived his no-movement clause for the expansion draft, according to multiple reports.

Fleury's decision gives the Vegas Golden Knights the opportunity to select him to either compete for their starting goaltender position or use as trade bait.

Per Lavoie, the Penguins approached Fleury about waiving his no-movement clause in February and he agreed.

Fleury, 32, is signed through next season with a cap hit of $5.75 million.

Rookie Patrick McCaw had a couple of deft scoring plays (and an all-time wtf foul when Kyrie Irving tripped on his own get at me). As for Durant , he was awarded the Finals MVP, a year after leaving Oklahoma City to join an already flush Warriors squad.

TSN Hockey Insider Pierre LeBrun reports the Penguins goaltender will be exposed in the expansion draft, barring a trade before Saturday's deadline. After all, Fleury is a multi-time Stanley Cup Champion and has been with the team since he was drafted first-overall back in 2004. Fleury being rewarded for his loyalty and graciousness - and playing an absolutely integral role in the Penguins' run - was one of the best stories of the postseason.

Rutherford has a ton of business to tend to, but at least he won't have to worry about the expansion draft anymore. Losing a 23-year-old standout like Murray to the Vegas Golden Knights for nothing seemed like it simply couldn't be an option - with this news now coming to light, it' clear that the Penguins never intended on letting that happen. By doing this, Fleury is allowing the Penguins to protect Murray and keep an eye towards the future while also potentially sealing his fate and allowing Vegas to select him in Expansion. Fleury posted a 9-6 mark with a 2.56 goals-against average in the playoffs, highlighted by a 29-save performance as Pittsburgh posted a 2-0 victory over the Washington Capitals in Game 7 of the second round.

If they so wish, the Las Vegas Golden Knights could make Fleury the franchise's first netminder.
