The prosecutor said investigators also found the names of three Islamic extremists known to federal authorities listed in Winner's notebook.

The first person to be charged with leaking intelligence to the press under President Trump was given "top secret" clearance despite her having urged other government officials to form a "resistance" against the administration. Victor remained locked up Tuesda. Prosecutors don't think victor is a jihadist or terrorist sympathizer, they say that before she left the military, she inserted an external hard drive into a top-secret computer there. The NSA report, dated May 5, provides details of a 2016 Russian cyberattack on a United States voting software supplier, though there is no evidence the hack affected any votes.

A USA intelligence contractor pleaded not guilty on Thursday to a charge of leaking a classified report on Russian election interference to a media outlet, CNN reported.

Reality Leigh Winner, 25, is accused of passing the top secret National Security Agency report to The Intercept last month while working with Pluribus International Corp, which provides analytical services for US defence and intelligence.

In one notation she wrote: "I want to burn the White House down", Assistant U.S. Attorney Jennifer Solari told the judge.

Wearing an orange jumpsuit and leg shackles, victor pleaded not guilty in US district court to charges that she illegally retained and transmitted national defense information.

Following her arrest on Saturday, it is being speculated that victor could be charged with leaking sensitive information and could face up to 10 years in prison.

Victor remained locked up Tuesday, June 6 on federal charges that she made copies of classified documents containing top-secret material and mailed them to an online news organization. The NSA report was dated May 5, the same as the document victor is charged with leaking.

Neither prosecutors nor Winner's parents have identified the government agency where she worked at the time of her arrest.

Winner's mother, Billie Winner-Davis, says her daughter moved to Georgia after six years in the Air Force and "believes in always doing what's right". "She's a patriot, and to see her maligned and slandered in the media is very disheartening".

"I just know she cares about her world and taking care of people and animals", Winner-Davis said.

A federal judge ordered that victor remain held without bond after prosecutors argued during Thursday's three-hour hearing that she posed a flight risk and public danger, citing what they called "disturbing" comments found in her notebook.

Solari argued that victor isn't the upstanding young woman her parents believe her to be.

"She hasn't admitted it to us at all", Winner-Davis stated.

The judge said he was anxious about what happened to the portable hard drive prosecutors mentioned, as well as references victor had made in her notebook about the Middle East. He also mentioned her written comment about burning the White House.

"@Kanyewest you should make a shirt that says, "being white is terrorism", victor wrote".

Solari cautioned that prosecutors were not trying to link victor to terrorism.

"The government is not in any way suggesting the defendant has become a jihadist or that she is a Taliban sympathizer", Solari told the judge. Prosecutors did not say which federal agency victor worked for, but FBI agent Justin Garrick said in an affidavit filed with the court that she had previously served in the Air Force and held a top-secret security clearance.
