At the start of its annual Build Conference, Microsoft sought to showcase applications with artificial intelligence that could tap into services in the internet "cloud" and even take advantage of computing power in nearby machines.
Developers can also publish to new channels including Bing, Cortana and Skype for Business, and implement Microsoft's payment request API for fast and easy checkout in their bots.
Microsoft originally had a goal to get Windows 10 running on more than 1 billion devices by 2018, but then the company had to revise that goal since it was way too ambitious.

These apps will soon appear in a new discover apps experience within Microsoft Teams, which is now available in the developer preview but will soon roll our to all users.For the cloud, the vendor said developers and ISVs who host their production SaaS applications on Microsoft Azure and sign up through the Azure website could now have their apps' data and workflow automatically extended to authorized Office 365 customers through standard connectors for PowerApps and Microsoft Flow.
Day One was defintely developer heavy and Office focused, and Day Two is shaping up to continue the trend but with a eye on some actual Windows development as well.

In another move that is bound to get developers salivating, Microsoft launched its Visual Studio coding platform for Mac.
Nadella urged developers to use technology for people's empowerment.
The company has already taken the first steps in bringing artificial intelligence to Windows 10 via Cortana, their AI-based virtual assistant.
