"Bill Shine, Co-President of FOX News Channel (FNC) since August 2016, has resigned and will leave the company after helping the transition over the next few weeks, announced Rupert Murdoch, Executive Chairman of 21st Century Fox".
Bill Shine, co-president of Fox News Channel, has become the latest executive to resign from the cable channel in the wake of a sexual misconduct scandal.
Shine's departure is the fourth big exit to rock Fox News since previous year including Megyn Kelly's defection to NBC News where she'll host a primetime newsmagazine and daytime program, said THR.
Incidents of alleged sexual harassment by Bill O'Reilly, chronicled in a New York Times report last month, occurred before Shine was elevated to co-president.
Suzanne Scott, current Executive Vice President, will become President of Programming for Fox News.
The other co-president of Fox News, Jack Abernethy, will remain in that position, Murdoch said Monday afternoon.
Instead, Shine appeared to come under increasing pressure all week, as rumors began circulating that Murdoch's sons - Lachlan and James, who run Fox's parent company, 21st Century Fox - were seeking his successor. Sean Hannity made it known Monday that he has no intention in leaving the right-wing news network. Numerous press reports, citing anonymous sources, had claimed that Hannity could leave Fox News as early as Friday, May 5.
"Through a FOX News spokesperson, Suzanne Scott said she never asked any women at Fox News - on-air or off - to support Roger Ailes". Following this, Fox News started "Hannity" with the popular host. Ailes departure was followed by Fox News heavyweight Bill O'Reilly, who departed the company last month.

Shine, a two-decade veteran of Fox News, had been guiding the network's day-to-day operations as the sexual-harassment scandal unfolded. They will lead For News to an even more successful future, " Murdoch said.
The Washington Free Beacon reported on Monday that Shine resigned after Hannity tweeted on April 27 that "somebody HIGH UP AND INSIDE FNC" was trying to get Shine fired.
"This is a significant day for all at Fox News".
Other suits have mentioned Shine as allowing a workplace environment that fostered sexual harassment and racial discrimination.
Hannity had no statement about Shine's departure, the Fox News spokeswoman said.
The shakeup comes amid turmoil at Fox, the most viewed United States cable news channel and a favorite of conservatives.
Shine was a staunch defender of O'Reilly when the host was at the network.
