On March 15, Manohar, who was elected unopposed as the ICC's first independent chairman in May 2016 for a two-year term, resigned from the post because of "personal reasons".
"The International Cricket Council (ICC) today confirmed Shashank Manohar will continue to function as the Independent Chairman of ICC until the end of his elected term which is June 2018", the global cricket body said in a statement.
Last March, Manohar had made a decision to step down from chairman's post citing "personal reasons" only to be persuaded by the ICC directors - both full members and associates - to stay.
Following the passing of Jagmohan Dalmiya, Manohar was re-elected as the BCCI chief in October 2015 and, by virtue of that position, has held the role of ICC chairman since then.
Moon Jae-in sworn in as president of South Korea
He then visited Korea's National Cemetery at 10 a.m.to pay his respects to Korea's fallen heroes and past presidents. Moon began his duties earlier in the day by receiving a briefing about North Korea from Army Gen.
Manohar has been a driving force behind plans to redraw the world governing body's constitution and introduce a new revenue-sharing policy in place of the controversial "Big Three" framework which invested majority power and finances in the boards of India, England and Australia.
But the BCCI - represented by Committee of Administrators' member Vikram Limaye - had protested vehemently against this move, which would lead to a considerable drop in its revenue. And that is exactly what happened as the BCCI only found support from Sri Lanka Cricket's Thilanga Sumathipala when it came to voting for revenue changes and ended up losing 1-9.
India resisted naming its Champions Trophy squad in protest, missing a key deadline and threatening to pull out of the tournament in England, but relented and named a side this week.
However, this was overturned at last month's meeting in Dubai, where the the ICC board voted for a new financial model and governance structure to address the imbalance.
