UT Austin stabbing suspect reportedly suffered from mental health issues

"This was not a conspiracy". "This was not about a person who had a vendetta".

WHen police asked White about the knife that was on his person when he was detained in Jester Center on Monday afternoon, he said he purchased it a few days ago for protection and that Monday was the first time he had carried it on his person.

Students also tweeted about an incident across campus from the crime scene where a banner was reportedly dropped from a walkway that reads "Tuition pays for bombs".

UT-Austin and police officials held a press conference this morning to provide updates on Monday's on-campus stabbing incident, which left one student dead and three others wounded, as well as another stabbing incident off-campus. He was identified as Harrison Brown, a freshman and talented musician.

Fenves met with the victim's family on Tuesday.

Tuesday evening, the University of Texas darkened its iconic tower as a tribute to Brown during a campus memorial service. White was recently involuntarily committed in another city, he said.

I'm feeling the same way. And I'm feeling the same way". Many of them first learned of the attacks through news reports and social media.

The system's first emergency texts were not sent until nearly 30 minutes after the attack, and the campus sirens were not sounded.

Bayliss said he was leaving the gym with some friends when he saw the commotion on campus, people were running and screaming, then he suddenly felt something in his back. No ongoing threats at this time.
