The Golden State Warriors were up by ten with about a minute to play when Kevin Durant hit the dagger to seal the win over the Utah Jazz to take a 3-0 lead in the conference semifinals.
Kevin Durant was excellent with 38 points and 13 rebounds, but otherwise the Warriors were mostly bad on this night and overcame it. The Jazz really needed to dominate the turnovers and rebounding to have any shot in this series, since they were never going to out-shoot the Warriors, but so far it hasn't happened, with the Warriors winning each of the four factors. Golden State was 14-of-31 from 3-point land in the win. It resulted in the ball getting stuck up by the shot clock and two easy points for Curry to tie the game at 70. Hayward had 29 points and 6 assists. Rudy Gobert tallied 21 points, 15 rebounds and 2 blocks. Not to mention, Green gave them a free point when he kept complaining from the bench and had a technical called on him after receiving his third foul.
The rest of the starting four scored 45 points, with Draymond Green, Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson looking particularly inept most of the way. Totals 37-84 19-23 102.
Durant was the only Warriors starter who had a vintage performance.
3-Point Goals-Golden State 9-30 (Durant 4-8, Curry 3-11, Iguodala 2-3, Clark 0-1, Green 0-3, Thompson 0-4), Utah 7-22 (Ingles 2-3, Hayward 2-6, Mack 1-2, Hood 1-4, Johnson 1-5, Exum 0-1, Diaw 0-1).
Democrat Pelosi slams GOP health care bill
She said the new changes don't improve the bill and instead are "an assault on the good health of the American people". House Republicans will vote on a bill to repeal major portions of Democratic President Barack Obama's health care law.
Curry drained his first triple of the game late in the third quarter after missing his first six attempts. His 54.5-percent clip (18-for-33) from deep is the highest of any National Basketball Association player who has attempted at least 20 three-pointers in the playoffs.
Jazz: Utah continued to have slow starts and shot just 28.6 percent and trailed by 10 at the end of the first quarter. Golden State was held under 106 points for the first time this postseason. He was exceptional at times during this game, but the Warriors simply have too much firepower.
Utah's forward progress halted when it went almost four minutes without scoring a field goal.
With just over a minute left in the game, Durant and Gobert got into it under the basket.
Utah Jazz guard George Hill will remain sidelined for Saturday's Game 3 against the Golden State Warriors because of soreness in his left big toe. "I'm sure he didn't mind if we just moved on". "The league has to do what they have to do".
