The 28-year-old again failed to perform on Friday, as his team slumped to a 19-run loss to Kings XI Punjab, despite having to chase a lowly score of 138/6.

Former India captain and batting legend Sunil Gavaskar has been less than impressed with Kohli's recent performances as leader of the floundering Royal Challengers Bangalore. Gavaskar is irritated with at the way the talented batsman has been getting out.

"He has got to say to himself that he is the captain, he has got to stay out there".

Speaking about KXIP's upcoming games, Sandeep said he is happy to play in front of his home crowd, Mohali.

No other horses threatened him down the stretch and Velazquez furiously pumped his right arm as they crossed the finish line. American Pharoah became just the 12th horse to complete the treble in 2015 - and the first since Affirmed in 1978.

The left-handed Gayle's poor form continued when he was dismissed without scoring with the total on one off the fourth ball of the innings, edging a slash at seamer Sandeep Sharma (3-22) to point. He missed the inswinger completely and was bowled. The wicket at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium mightn't assist him as much as Eden Gardens did, but the psychological edge of wrecking RCB's feared line-up he will have, when he steps out to do the same to it. I was thinking before the match that if I could get Chris Gayle, AB de Villiers and Virat Kohli out, it will be so awesome. He has got to stay there.

RCB, which lost to Sunrisers Hyderabad in the final previous year, are now languishing at the bottom of the table with five points from 12 matches. Interestingly no score less than 200 could be defended previous year. Though he scored three half-centuries after coming back, it has not been able to lift the spirits of RCB this season. Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers and Chris Gayle could only manage 16 runs together. "So, there you are", he said.

Kohli was the highest run-scorer in the IPL past year, blasting 973 runs in total, which included four centuries. "Because you hit the ball in the air (for six), the risk percentage goes up to a 100".
