Universal acquired the rights to a script, called "Blond Ambition", about the Material Girl's life in NY and her struggles before her first album, "Madonna", was released, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

Producers Michael De Luca (Fifty Shades of Grey) and Brett Ratner (Prison Break) are attached to the project, which was voted the most popular unproduced screenplay in Hollywood a year ago.
