Flynn was sacked as national security adviser in February after he made misleading comments to Vice President Mike Pence about discussions he had with the Russian ambassador to the United States.
When the White House refused to turn over documents that were requested by the House Oversight Committee's investigation, they were engaging in a criminal cover-up that could be the beginning of the end of this administration.
During the visit, Flynn, a retired lieutenant general and adviser to U.S. President Donald Trump, dined with Russian President Vladimir Putin and spoke at a gala dinner sponsored by Russia's RT television, which paid Flynn at least $33,000 for the trip.

After disagreeing that the Committee has the right to know whom Michael Flynn was in contact with during his time in the administration, the White House writes that as the investigation is "focused on activities and payments that occurred in 2015 and 2016", they "cannot conduct a search for responsive documents". House intelligence has also invited Yates and Clapper to testify in a public hearing that has not yet been scheduled.

Last month, Flynn faced a fresh wave of scrutiny when he retroactively registered as a foreign agent for more than $500,000 worth of lobbying work he did on behalf of the Turkish government.
Chaffetz made his remarks alongside Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-Md.), the committee's ranking member, after a classified meeting.
Last month, Comey acknowledged that his agency was investigating whether members of Trump's campaign had colluded with Russian Federation to try to influence the election.

Rep. Jason Chaffetz, R-Utah, also said Flynn apparently had violated federal requirements that he seek permission for such a business arrangement from the Pentagon and the State Department. Flynn, who headed the military's top intelligence agency, was Trump's national security adviser until he was sacked in February.
What's far more confusing to me is why the White House doesn't appear to be cooperating with the committee's investigation into Flynn.
"That would be a question for him and a law enforcement agency", Spicer said.
Flynn's growing importance in the Russia-Trump investigations was underscored by the announcement from another congressional committee that it would soon take testimony from former Deputy Attorney General Sally Yates.
We reached out to the White House Press Office for comment and have not received a response.
"Investigating Michael Flynn is about the safest thing that you can do", Perry added. Since classified information is inadmissible in court, it is possible that the F.B.I. would have to flip Flynn or somebody else with knowledge of any wrongdoing in order to prosecute a case.
Rosenberg said the allegation that Flynn committed crimes is a new development and his prosecution appears likely. Yates is scheduled to appear at a congressional hearing next month on Russian interference in the 2016 US presidential election, a Senate committee announced today.
