They each spoke of their motivations for taking part in the mental health drive, with Kate reflecting on motherhood, William on his experience of male suicide through his work as an air ambulance pilot, and Harry on veterans. "The first few weeks are such a learning curve". "When you have children it puts your own emotions and own life into perspective massively".
"Considering everything that you boys, obviously, sadly went through, the trauma that you experienced", the Duchess of Cambridge said. Harry said he had sought counselling to help deal with the grief. "You're amazingly close. being able to share things", she said.
Harry, William and Kate began the race by pushing the button at the same time. "Sometimes families sadly aren't as lucky as you guys have been".
Quickly composing herself, she said, "We'll bring you all the big stories, new entries, high climbers and of course, the top 10 in full". "Even Harry and I though, over the years, have not talked enough about our mother".
