Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on Wednesday said Water Resources Minister Uma Bharti will not resign after the Supreme Court's ruled that she and other leaders will face conspiracy charges in the Babri Masjid demolition case.
"I am not one of those who is greedy for power". Congress has no moral right to seek my resignation, they themselves were responsible for anti-sikh riots in Delhi.
Union Minister Uma Bharti has cancelled the visit to Ayodhya in Uttar Pradesh that she had announced a few hours ago.
Asked whether she would resign as Union Minister as the Congress party has demanded her resignation, Uma Bharti said, "The charge has not been proved".
The apex court has directed the sessions judge in Lucknow to conduct the trial in the Babri demolition case on a daily basis and that the judge will not be transferred.
Arkansas inmates try variety of arguments to avoid death
Arkansas Attorney General Leslie Rutledge, meanwhile, says she is pursuing an appeal of the stay of Davis' and Ward's executions. Bruce Ward and Don Davis had originally been the first of eight Arkansas inmates scheduled to die within 11 days of each other.
"There was no conspiracy". I was involved in the Ayodhya movement...
Uma Bharti said she was ready to "sacrifice her life" for construction of a Ram temple in Ayodhya and would visit the place on Thursday to offer prayers to Ram Lala. These rightwing outfits have been pressing the government to bring in a law in Parliament to build the temple at the disputed site. Bharti, who is now the Minister for Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation in the Union Government of India, said, "Main aaj raat ko Ayodhya jaa rahi hoon, Ramlala, Ram ji ko apna garv aur santosh vyakt karoongi ki itna samman diya (I am going to Ayodhya tonight and will express my satisfaction for the respect I have got)".
"I am proud to have been associated with the Ram Janmabhoomi movement", Ms. Bharti added. "The time has come to construct the temple", she said.
There was "no conspiracy and everything was in the open", she told reporters after the apex court verdict. She, however, said that she respected the court decision."With this judgment, a situation has arisen in which I feel resolution of the matter might happen out of the court", she said without further elaborating.
