At least three people are dead after a man went on a shooting spree in Fresno, California, according to CBS news. Police said he dived onto the ground when he saw an officer before being taken into custody. Once in custody, Muhammad told police that he hates white people.

A California man accused of fatally shooting a security guard last Thursday was captured Tuesday after fatally shooting three others. It remains to be seen if he was acting on behalf of a larger group.

The suspect, an African-American named Kori Ali Muhammad, is believed to have shot a security guard last week outside a motel in the city. "There was no comments or no statements made at that time, so I am not certain why he said what he said today".

He claimed insanity, and his attorney requested a psychiatric examination for his client, saying Muhammad "appeared eccentric with some freakish beliefs".

A Los Angeles Times report Tuesday said that Muhammad was charged with drug and weapons crimes in 2005 and was indicted by a federal grand jury in February that year for possession of cocaine with intent to distribute.

"He was a different kind of boy, he was different from all my kids", Glenestene Taylor said.

"On what appeared to be Muhammad's Facebook page, he repeatedly posted "#LetBlackPeopleGo" and encouraged "black warriors" to "mount up".

Indian businessman Vijay Mallya arrested in London
The businessman has repeatedly denied charges of wrongdoing, and calls the collapse of his airline a genuine commercial failure. The Narendra Modi government wants Mallya, who owes some Rs9,000 crore to a bunch of Indian banks, extradited.

Various witnesses have described the mayhem as Muhammad strolled down Fresno streets, opening fire on multiple people as he reloaded his.357 magnum and moved onto the next target.

"There is every reason to believe he acted alone".

He also has a history of mental illness and psychiatric hospitalisations.

If federal investigators did determine that the suspect was inspired by worldwide terrorist groups, the FBI would take over the case. The imam said he is consulting with other faith leaders. "My thoughts and prayers are with the families of the victims".

The shootings erupted near a Catholic Charities facility.

Fresno city spokesman Mark Standriff says county offices are on lockdown, and people have been urged to shelter in place. Two of those killed were shot near a Catholic Charities social services facility, where they may have been clients.
