Aggression against North Korea: Russia, China pursue USA nuclear-powered aircraft carrier

China and Russian Federation have launched intelligence-gathering vessels to follow the USS Carl Vinson aircraft carrier as it travels toward the Korean Peninsula, multiple Japenese government sources told The Yomiuri Shimbun, as reported by the Associated Press.

North Korea has already threatened to destroy the carrier in the case of U.S. military aggression.

He added, "The number one threat in the region continues to be North Korea due to its reckless, irresponsible and destabilizing program of missile tests and pursuit of a nuclear weapons capability".

Yesterday, on Easter Sunday, the armed forces of South Korea and the U.S. announced that it recorded a failed test launch of a ballistic missile from Pyongyang. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Friday that Moscow was watching the situation with "great concern" and urged all parties "not to pursue actions that could consist of any provocative steps". The Trump administration has said it is seeking China's assistance in dealing with North Korea; Beijing has recently imposed trade sanctions on Pyongyang.

Tensions on the Korean peninsula have escalated as the USA president Donald Trump has adopted a harsh rhetoric against the North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, who repelled China's exhortations and ordered to have new missile tests.

Trump's national security advisor H.R. McMaster told ABC's "This Week" on Sunday that the US was not now considering military action against the North but was working on peaceful solutions.

According to media reports, North Korea had not called off a new nuclear test, despite the recent failure on the 105th anniversary of the birthday of Kim Il-sung, the late founder of the Republic. It maintains the stance that it intends to conduct its first nuclear test since September past year, which would be its sixth test, and test-launch intercontinental ballistic missiles.
