"Congratulations to Russell Westbrook on a magnificent season!"

Westbrook recorded his 42nd triple-double of the season against the Denver Nuggets, surpassing the single-season record that Oscar Robertson had held for 55 years.

No player has averaged a triple-double for an entire season since Robertson. He scored the Thunder's final 13 points, including his 36-foot game-winner at the death after a timeout was called with 2.9 seconds remaining. Westbrook is averaging 31.9 points, 10.7 rebounds and 10.4 assists per game this season.

After breaking a 55-year-old National Basketball Association record, Oscar Robertson believes Oklahoma City Thunder guard Russell Westbrook can go on and make more history.

With four minutes left in the game, Westbrook passed the ball to Semaj Christon for the three-pointer.

The game between Denver Nuggets and Oklahoma City Thunder started late due to multiple games scheduled for today.

The six-time All-Star, who is averaging a triple-double for the season, also has 79 career triple-doubles as he continues to make waves, despite losing star team-mate Kevin Durant to the Golden State Warriors.

The Palm Beach Post even keeps a running log of all Trump's golf visits, noting that he likes to frequent his own establishments. Mar-a-Lago staffers, however, have insisted that they can not release the visitor logs because they do not keep such records.

Westbrook is now leading the league in scoring as well.

It was yet another remarkable display of the all-around excellence that a triple-double - the achievement of double-digit totals in three of five key statistical categories - has come to represent.

"At the end of the day, he was the one who also thought that this would be a good day (to rest)", Donovan said.

The win secured the No. 6 seed in the Western Conference playoffs for the Thunder and eliminated the Nuggets from contention for the eighth spot. Robertson, however, believes Westbrook is the clear MVP and recently told USA TODAY Sports that Westbrook is "the triple-double king".

It was just a tremendous cherry on top of a record-breaking season that will surely garner Westbrook MVP honors when it's all said and done.

"Y'all are probably going to get exhausted of me saying the same thing, but I promise you I've been blessed with so many things. I'm very thankful and blessed to be able to go out and compete at the highest level", said Westbrook during the post-game interview, as per The Guardian.
