India said on Thursday that the alleged Indian spy sentenced to death in Pakistan was innocent of the charges hurled at him.
"We are not in a position to judge the process ..."
Swaraj dismissed Jadhav's trial as a farce and said Pakistan had ignored 13 separate requests in the past year to be permitted to offer him consular services.
Commander Kulbhushan Sudhir Jadhav alias Hussein Mubarak Patel was arrested on March 3, 2016 through a Counter Intelligence Operation from Mashkel, Balochistan, for his involvement in espionage and sabotage activities against Pakistan. "I am sure the Government of India is keenly observing all the developments and that Kulbhushan Jadhav will be safely brought back to India", Prakash told ANI.
Baglay also said that Jadhav was "legally doing business" in Iran's Chabahar port and the issue has been discussed with Teheran.
He refused to comment on Jadhav's passport.
Canada moves to legalise recreational pot
Canadian officials were apparently in close touch with their American counterparts as they drafted the proposed law. The government will allow the citizens to carry up to 30 grams of dried cannabis for personal use.
Asif said Jadhav had the right to move the Pakistan Army's Court of Appeal against his conviction within 60 days, followed by submission of mercy pleas to the army chief and the President.
The spokesman, Gopal Baglay, added that it was odd that the news of the death sentence against Jadhav and the news of "conditional access" - "that means no access" - granted by Pakistan happened on the same day.
Sources in the Ministry indicated that India has consular access to these men.
Swaraj warned "the Pakistan government to consider the consequences for our bilateral relationship if they proceed on this matter".
External Affairs Minister Sushma on Tuesday had cautioned Pakistan against the consequences its bilateral ties with India would face if it went through with the death penalty. "We said that we would treat it as premeditated murder", he added.
The death sentence awarded to Jadhav recently echoed in both Houses of Parliament where all parties came together to condemn the "indefensible" verdict and pressed the government to take every step to help him.
