Ndima and Manganye said although there has been action through their engagements with the party, the group was not happy with the progress made in getting Zuma to resign as the country and party's president.

He said that Zuma was actively undermining Chapter 9 institutions.

Zuma's sacking of Finance Minister Pravin Gordhan in a cabinet reshuffle on March 31 has outraged allies and opponents alike, undermined his authority and caused rifts in the ANC, which has governed South Africa since the end of apartheid.

"The people outside Gauteng who can't make it to the march, they must pick busy streets with homemade placards, stand in solidarity and demand for Zuma to step down", said EFF spokesperson Mbuyiseni Ndlozi. Speaking to The Citizen, Mathekga said while Zuma was without a doubt having a tough time in the wake of growing calls for him to step down, giving up was something far from his mind.

"If the ANC still keep him - it's actually good for us [opposition] becuase they will lose in 2019".

On Tuesday while opposition parties mobilised people to join in their mass demonstration, the Constitutional Court granted the UDM access to the court for an application to allow a secret ballot to be used in the motion of no confidence against Zuma.
