A fortnight after crowning herself the India Open champion, PV Sindhu is on a quest to claim her third Superseries title at the Singapore Open tournament.

Sindhu and Fitriani met earlier this year for the first time at Syed Modi Grand Prix Gold and the former wrapped the match in just 38 minutes with a straight games win.
In men's singles, Srikanth, ranked 28th in the world, recovered from a game down to beat Indonesia's Ihsan Moulana 18-21, 21-19, 22-20. On Wednesday, he had started his Singapore Open campaign with a 64-minute victory over Denmark's Emil Holst 17-21, 21-7, 21-19.
However, Sindhu will be facing the Spaniard once again, after Marin defeated Chinese Taipei's Chia Hsin Lee later on Thursday.
The two opponents continued to fight neck and neck before the Japanese took six points on the trot to open up a commanding 17-10 lead and went on to take the first game.

The World No. 30 Indian Praneeth will clash with eighth seeded Tanongsak Saensomboonsuk of Thailand next.
