Boston Solothon? Marathon race director runs it alone

Dave McGillivray runs his Boston Marathons the same way he directs them: behind the scenes. Mike said he thoroughly relishes getting to know different people on the bus rides to the starting lines of various marathons.

He recently ran the Cherry Blossom 10-mile run in Washington, D.C. on April 2. She ran a half-marathon last January, where she had some gastrointestinal issues and her IT band-a muscle along the outside of the leg, from the hip to the ankle, that runners often injure-flared up. She went home and put in an application to be part of the club, thinking she had no chance of being accepted.
