Jury deliberating for 3rd day in ex-NFL star's murder trial

Hernandez, 27, is already serving life in prison in a 2013 killing.

The third day of deliberations in the Aaron Hernandez double murder trial passed without jurors finding a verdict in the case.

Locke said Tuesday morning that evidence must prove beyond a reasonable doubt that Hernandez himself directly pointed a gun at and shot Bradley. Deliberations are set to resume Tuesday.

On Monday, a lawyer for Hernandez told Judge Jeffrey Locke that his selection of a white woman as the forewoman on the predominantly minority jury has "troubling racial overtones".

Hernandez is charged with killing two men outside a nightclub in the South End in 2012 after one of them allegedly bumped into Hernandez, causing him to spill a drink.

If a judge agrees to sign off on the proceedings, the stores will close over the course of the coming months. The Bob's Stores in South Attleboro, Saugus, Franklin, Seekonk and Framingham will close.

Hernandez has been charged for first-degree murder in the 2012 shootings of Daniel de Abreu and Safiro Furtado.

Hernandez is already serving a life sentence in a 2013 killing.

Hernandez's lawyers say a former Hernandez friend shot the men over a drug deal.

Judge Jeffrey Locke said the jury should not rely exclusively on the testimony of an immunized witness and needs corroboration of at least one element of the crime. Hernandez's father is Hispanic, and his mother is Italian.
