Jordan was waived by the Miami Dolphins less than a fortnight ago. The move saved Miami $3.225 million in salary for 2017.

Jordan has the speed and athleticism to play multiple positions, but the bulk and strength may not be there for him to hold up at defensive end. It would be a role similar to the one that Bruce Irvin filled for Seattle before signing with the Oakland Raiders in free agency past year. Last year's starter Mike Morgan is an unrestricted free agent. In his first two seasons, he compiled three sacks and 39 tackles in 26 games of limited duty.

USA Today Sports first reported Jordan's agreement with the Seahawks.

While the Seahawks have just one player left from their 11-man 2013 draft class - fifth-rounder Luke Willson - they have now signed four of the top 61 overall picks in that class since March - Joeckel, Jordan, linebacker Arthur Brown (56) and running back Eddie Lacy (61). In 2014, he was suspended twice for violating the league's substance-abuse policy and suspended the entire 2015 season after providing a "diluted sample", which counted as the third strike against him. He hasn't played in an National Football League game in 2014.

Russia's foreign ministry said in a statement that it hoped for "productive talks". But they were divided about how to deal with Syria, and Moscow.

The Dolphins kept Jordan under contract the past two years because of his potential.

After being reinstated following the one-year suspension, Jordan didn't play in 2016 as he dealt with a knee injury.
