Like the $179 Amazon Echo and $109 Google Home devices, Apple's new HomePod can be controlled with verbal commands using Apple's familiar Siri voice recognition system. So far, the service has limited payments to purchases of products and services from companies and other organizations. The device stands 7 inches tall and is lined with a mesh fabric similar to the base of the Google Home or exterior of an Amazon Tap.
