Police officer rescues dog from Lake Michigan
About 6:30 a.m., the dog fled a vehicle in the 600 block of North Lake Shore Drive and jumped into Lake Michigan, according to Chicago Police. A news helicopter crew in Chicago captured video of an wonderful rescue early Tuesday morning. An officer responding to a nearby vehicle crash rushed over to help the dog. After the rescue, another officer was able to get a leash on the dog.
