US sets up missile defence in S. Korea as North shows power
As a traditional ally and North Korea's chief source of trade, food and fuel aid, China has come under intense pressure to use its influence to dissuade Pyongyang from additional nuclear tests and missile launches. Chinese President Xi Jinping, who spoke to Trump on Monday, is urging restraint from both North Korea and the U.S. The Navy said that both exercises demonstrate the ability of the US and Japan to work together at sea to respond quickly to threats in the region.
