Tottenham want to get anything they can for Christian Eriksen, whose contract expires at the end of the 2019-2020 campaign.

The report claims the agent has contacted Real Madrid with a mission of reaching an agreement for the transfer in the next window.

However, Zidane is believed to be keen to bring in Manchester United's Paul Pogba instead - both players were linked with the 13-time European champions throughout the summer. And even if he had some interest in signing a new deal at the start of the season, Tottenham's recent struggles and the speculation surrounding manager Mauricio Pochettino surely hasn't helped change his mind.

The Premier League club remain adamant that Pogba is not for sale, though Zidane believes Pogba's desire to move to the Bernabeu could make a deal more viable in the future.

Real Madrid feel that they can buy Eriksen at €30 million in the winter, which is a huge reduction in price from the €80 million that Spurs wanted a few months ago.
